A new immigration system will be introduced in Thailand from May 1, 2025, known as the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). It will replace the previous paper TM6 form to simplify the entry procedures for visitors.

The preparation of the changes, confirmed by Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, is related to the TM6 immigration form that will be replaced and renamed as the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).

What was the TM6 Form?

The TM6 form was necessary to fill in while entering and leaving Thailand.

Travelers needed to share information related to personal details, such as name, surname, date of birth, etc.) and those connected to the travel (accommodation address in Thailand, length of stay, passport number, and more).

Traditionally, the form was given to the travelers during the flight. In 2022, in order to solve the issue of congestion and speed up the process, the Thai government decided to suspend this procedure.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) Instead of TM6 Form

Currently, the new system, called the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), is being developed. From May 1, 2025, travelers going to Thailand will be able to complete the necessary form online.

The change is a measure to promote tourism in Thailand, enhance security, and simplify entry for travelers. Digital immigration form is designed to reduce waiting time during border crossing, as it enables a smoother experience.

If you want to be up-to-date and know what documents will be necessary to enter Thailand, check the official governmental website regularly.
