Due to the disaster, tourist visas have been temporarily suspended since 3 April 2025. The center of visa application set in Naypyidaw was affected by the earthquake, so the process could lead to delays. That’s why the decision for the visa suspension was made.
The tragedy is challenging for the tourism sector of Myanmar, which has just started to be reviewed since the COVID-19 pandemic. The rebuilding and welcoming of the visitors may take time, so it’s best to wait for further information stated by the government.
